The Challenge
A major Canadian bank’s quality assurance processes had become increasingly fragmented. Development teams used different testing tools, workflows, and standards, creating siloed operations, duplicated effort, and inconsistent test coverage across the organization.
The lack of a unified approach made onboarding slower, increased the likelihood of post-release production issues, and reduced confidence in software quality. These manual, fragmented processes drove annual QA costs to approximately $2.4 million, highlighting the need for a more scalable and consistent approach.
The Solution
Highspring partnered with the bank to design and implement a standardized, automated quality assurance platform that established a consistent framework for testing across development teams.
The solution unified QA processes and introduced automated testing, reporting, and monitoring capabilities to replace manual, inconsistent workflows. By integrating tools including GitHub Actions, Cypress, Xray, Allure, SonarQube, Bruno, Behave, AquaSec, Snyk, Power BI, and Dynatrace, the platform provided greater visibility into testing and supported standardized reporting. AI-enabled dashboards enabled real-time insights and helped teams prioritize testing efforts.
With a shared platform and standardized processes in place, teams could work more efficiently while improving consistency and confidence in software quality.
Our Impact
By replacing fragmented QA practices with a unified, automated platform, the bank standardized testing across development teams while reducing costs and improving software quality.
Key outcomes included:
- $2.1 million in annual cost savings
- Quicker onboarding through standardized QA processes
- Faster software releases through automated testing and reporting
- Fewer production incidents through more consistent test coverage
- Greater confidence in software quality across development teams
- A scalable, secure QA foundation
