Asela Wijesiri

Partner

Asela leads Highspring’s Government Contracting Advisory Services practice and has over 20 years of experience assisting government contractors across a variety of industries including technology, aerospace, service providers, and manufacturing on regulatory compliance matters. He has extensive experience with performing DFARS business system compliance reviews, government contract readiness assessments, business process re-engineering, post integration business process harmonization, assisting with investigations, performing due diligence, and supporting technology transformations. He has also assisted clients in developing varying levels of indirect rate structures, led negotiations with cognizant agencies and provided litigation support, helped clients sustain indirect rates, and supported with preparing and reviewing incurred cost submissions. 

Prior to joining Highspring, Asela acquired a deep expertise in government contracting and consulting through his leadership in industry roles and Deloitte. Asela earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Accounting from Slippery Rock University.

Tom Roland

Tom Roland serves as Highspring’s consulting practices leader, driving strategy and team development to execute Highspring’s solutions for its clients. Highspring prides itself on delivering successful transformation engagements driven by events such as mergers, divestitures, emerging technology, process re-engineering, regulatory changes, and rapid growth or expansion—serving both the largest global companies and hyper-growth organizations creating cutting-edge technologies. 

In his role, Tom works closely with clients, client delivery teams, and Highspring leaders to understand the opportunities and challenges driving client needs. He refines solution delivery approaches and methodologies, incorporating advancements in emerging technologies and AI while seamlessly integrating Highspring’s deep expertise. Tom played a key role in developing Highspring’s proprietary delivery toolkits, built from thousands of successful client engagements, to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and differentiation in the Highspring impact. 

With over 20 years of client service delivery experience at Highspring and its predecessor companies, Tom is known for his hands-on, action-oriented approach solving new problems with battle-tested solutions. He began his career in public accounting before leading projects at a multinational telecom network company, addressing material weaknesses, transfer pricing, and operational performance challenges. Tom holds a degree in Accountancy from the University of Notre Dame. 

Omar Hawa

Partner

Omar Hawa leads Highspring’s accounting advisory practice and serves a wide range of clients from fast-growing private companies to large international publicly traded companies specializing in complex transactional challenges in accounting, finance, and business operations.  Additionally, he oversees Highspring’s rapid growth and strategy on the west coast. His portfolio includes hands-on experience in IPO readiness, financial reporting process design and improvement, finance transformation, enterprise resource planning (ERP) implementations, audit readiness, technical accounting, and internal control (Sarbanes-Oxley) compliance. Omar has also advised several multibillion-dollar companies in the aerospace and defense industry through the full M&A lifecycle particularly in post-merger process and system integration challenges. 

Prior to joining Highspring, Omar served in an internal controls role at Black Entertainment Television (BET), a Viacom company, and worked in Big Four public accounting. He is a certified public accountant and holds a B.S. in accounting, B.S. in business management, and a minor in economics from George Mason University.
